OFD presents the Oaklyn Halloween Parade 2012

UPDATE: Due to the hurricane, this event has been rescheduled for Saturday, November 3rd at 5:30 PM.

The Oaklyn Fire Department is proud to present the 60th Annual Oaklyn Halloween Parade. All are invited, and we'll have prizes for various younger age groups, goodie bags for all, as well as a lot of fun. Note the change in the direction of the parade. We START at the Oaklyn School this year and end at the fire station. We're looking forward to everyone from Oaklyn and Bettlewood coming out to make this a big success.

September 29, 2012 - Howard W. Kincaid (In Memoriam)

We regret to inform our friends, Oaklyn residents, and longtime area residents of the passing of Howard W. Kincaid earlier today, September 29th. Howard belonged to the OFD for almost 60 years. He was very active up until the past year or so, having served in many capacities, rising as high as Assistant Chief on the firefighting end, as President on the administrative side, and more recently as part of the Relief Association. He also served as an Oaklyn borough council member.

Many will recall that he, along with his brother Donald (also an OFD member) were the owners of the Oaklyn Hardware and Appliance store on the White Horse Pike.

The department and town have lost a very good friend, and his presence will be missed.

2012 Fund Drive

Oaklyn Fire Department's 2012 Fund Drive has begun! Our Fund Drive letters are out and we've been getting good returns already! If you're one of the ones who have responded already, thank you very much!

We also have a new donation option this year - you can now donate online using PayPal! Just click the yellow Donate button on the right-hand side of this page.

July 4, 2012 - Fire Engine Rides and Parade

Continuing a July 4th tradition that goes back over 50 years, the Oaklyn Fire Department provided rides on its trucks for young and old. From the Manor parking lot, and on E. Haddon across from the church, plenty of residents were starting off their holiday with the OFD. Later in the morning, the Oaklyn Fire Department also participated in the borough's 4th of July parade.

May 28, 2012 - St. Baldrick's Recap

As a quick follow-up to our earlier discussion of St. Baldrick's, the Oaklyn Fire Department raised a total of $3,300 for the charity this year. The final tally can be seen on the department's St. Baldrick's team page. We want to express our gratitude to everyone who donated to our team this year. We look forward to this event every year, and we hope to raise even more money for this great cause in 2013.
