July 8th, 2014 - Three Vehicle Accident

The OFD responded to a three-vehicle accident in front of the Wawa shortly after 1pm Tuesday. Our job is to take care of leaking fluids, like anti-freeze and transmission fluid, that leaks onto the highway and to provide a safe working environment for EMS personnel. We also assist EMS as needed. While nobody was pinned in their cars, it was best for EMS to safely package the victims for transport before removing them from their cars. None of the injuries appeared to be life-threatening, and six people were taken to area hospitals. The White Horse Pike was closed for about 90 minutes.

Remember, if you see an accident or fire anywhere, don't assume that somebody else has called it in. Make it a point to call 911 to make sure. Do not immediately start shooting video with your phone! That didn't happen here, but we hear of this happening all too much.
